Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe and supportive environment where victims can heal
• Orient new clients to the program and facility
• Complete bed bug protocol with new clients
• Ensure facilities are ready for new clients
• Address any needs of residents
• Enforce program guidelines to ensure a safe and secure environment
• Answer hotline calls as needed
• Conducts Room checks
• Enforces rules and regulations of the residence
• Monitor facility and coordinate repairs as needed
• Assign weekly chores and assist in skill building
• Provide ongoing information during staffing regarding individual issues and concerns
• Maintain a supportive, professional relationship with all staff and volunteers
• Participate in PQI activities as requested

Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience:

• The Shelter Manager will have a minimum High School Diploma, with some college preferred.
• Knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence, non-profit or shelter settings preferred
• Must have a valid driver’s license, driver’s insurance and pass all background checks
• Will be required to live on site and have separate living space

Skills and Knowledge:

• Demonstrates knowledge of the target population of the program.
• Ability to supervise clients in an assertive and pleasant manner
• Ability to role model appropriate person hygiene and appearance
• Must be motivated to work with multi-cultural clients
• Practices excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Practices and models conflict resolution skills.
•  Understands and model’s cultural sensitivity to OCYFS’s clients and families
